WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Ministry should
have a reason.

We do not want to do something simply because churches do it. We want Scripture to shape both what we believe and what we do.

CONVICTIONS INTO PRACTICE

What we believe should affect how we minister.

If Christ is the Head of His church and Scripture is our authority, then we should be able to explain why we do what we do from biblical conviction—not merely because something is familiar or popular.

01

Why do we teach through books of the Bible?

Because we want Scripture to determine what is taught rather than selecting only the subjects we prefer. Working carefully through a biblical book keeps the message tied to its context and brings us to truths we might otherwise pass over.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 · Acts 20:27

02

Why does doctrine matter?

Because what we believe about God affects how we worship Him and how we live. Sound teaching helps us know the God we worship, recognize error, and live according to truth.

Titus 2:1 · 1 Timothy 4:16

03

Why discipleship rather than simply attendance?

Because Jesus commanded His church to make disciples. Gathering matters, but attendance is not the goal. We want believers to grow in Christ, understand His Word, learn obedience, and become equipped to minister to others.

Matthew 28:19–20 · Ephesians 4:11–16

04

Why is fellowship important?

Because the church is a body, not an audience. Biblical fellowship means our lives actually intersect as we encourage one another, bear burdens, pray, serve, and share life together.

Acts 2:42 · Galatians 6:2 · Hebrews 10:24–25

05

Why take children's ministry seriously?

Because children need more than activities. They need God's Word taught at a level they can understand, godly examples to follow, and opportunities to grow as part of the life of the church.

Deuteronomy 6:6–7 · 2 Timothy 3:14–15

06

Why aren't programs the measure of a healthy church?

Because activity does not necessarily equal faithfulness. The first question is not simply whether something works. We must ask whether it is biblical, honors Christ, and helps accomplish what He entrusted to His church.

1 Corinthians 4:2 · Colossians 1:18

THE QUESTION BENEATH THE QUESTION

Is it faithful?

We don't want to do something simply because churches do it. We want to understand why we do it, whether Scripture supports it, and whether it helps us faithfully carry out what Christ has entrusted to His church.
